The Garda Representative Association (GRA) says it is crucial the Gardaí establish a cultural know-how in order to effectively police our changing society.

The association’s comments come as more than 800 non-nationals apply to join the Gardaí. Chinese nationals make up the vast majority of prospective recruits with 680 applicants from the Chinese community here.
