Mother and children escape injury in shotgun attack
A mother and her two young children today escaped injury after a shotgun attack on their house in Limerick city.
Two gunmen arrived at the house in St Ita’s Street at about 12.25am and fired a number of shots from a pump-action shotgun.
A mother and her two children, aged three and six, were asleep inside the house at the time but were uninjured in the attack.
A Garda spokeswoman said the shots had damaged the front door, front windows and a car parked outside the house.
“Two culprits were involved, both left the scene on foot,” she said.
Gardaí from Henry Street investigating the attack have sealed off the scene for technical examination.
