Conference discusses ways to tackle drink-related problems

Community-based initiatives aimed at tackling the problems associated with alcohol abuse are being discussed at a conference in Cork today.

The gathering is due to hear details of a range of initiatives that have been established in Ireland and elsewhere to combat alcohol-related problems.

The conference was arranged by Mature Enjoyment of Alcohol in Society, an organisation set up by the drinks industry to promote more responsible alcohol consumption.
