Hobbs slams Govt attitude to spending report

Financial adviser and TV personality Eddie Hobbs has slammed the Government's dismissal of yesterday's report from the Comptroller and Auditor General.

The report from the State's spending watchdog highlighted a massive waste of taxpayers' money by the FF/PD coalition.

Speaking about the matter today, Mr Hobbs said it vindicated the message of his recent hit TV show Rip-Off Republic.

"There will always be mistakes and errors made with public funds," he said, "but the worst thing you can possibly hear is a government minister coming on the radio and saying it's no big deal.

"It is a big deal. The big deal is that you didn't get it, you didn't listen to Rip-Off Republic, you didn't get the message."
