Poll favours Rainbow Coalition

The Labour Party is reacting with confidence to the latest poll which indicates that more voters would favour an alternative coalition to the Fianna Fáil/PD alliance.

The Labour Party is reacting with confidence to the latest poll which indicates that more voters would favour an alternative coalition to the Fianna Fáil/PD alliance.

In total, 36% of those surveyed in the Irish Times/MRBI poll would prefer a rainbow grouping of Labour, Fine Gael and possibly the Greens, compared to 31% who would like to see the current Government stay in power.

One of the areas that voters think the opposition would be more capable in is childcare.

Labour TD Liz McManus says this is because the Government has completely failed to tackle the problems facing parents.
