The body that oversees the profession of barrister in Ireland has reportedly rejected the Competition Authority's proposed reforms of the sector.

The authority has recommended the abolition of the King's Inns' and the Law Society's monopoly on legal training, as well the establishment of a legal services commission similar to the Medical Council for doctors.
