Truck drivers were due to mount a protest against high fuel prices this morning, with a slow-moving convoy due to leave Monaghan and Louth en route for Dublin.

The convoy was due to depart at around 6am with the aim of causing major traffic disruption in Dublin during the morning rush hour.
