Staff end 11 week sit-in at Co Offaly nursing home
Staff at a Co Offaly nursing home have ended a n 11 week sit-in protest over the failure of the facility's owners to pay them outstanding wages.
The staff began the protest when Tullybeg Retirement Village closed on July 1 due to financial troubles.
They said they were owed almost €150,000 in unpaid wages, but they ended their protest today after the directors of the nursing home secured a loan to enable them to hand over the money.
