Police in the North have arrested a total of 63 people in connection with the past three nights of rioting in Belfast and surrounding areas.

Police in the North have arrested a total of 63 people in connection with the past three nights of rioting in Belfast and surrounding areas.

The PSNI said today that 60 people were detained on suspicion of public order offences and another three in connection with a "serious terrorist offence".

Hundreds of loyalists were involved in the riots, which followed a contentious Orange Order parade on Saturday that was banned from the nationalist Springfield Road.
