ESB technicians may strike over use of contractors

Network technicians working with the ESB have reportedly threatened to go on strike from next Monday as part of a row over the hiring of outside contractors.

Reports this morning said the dispute centred on the extent to which these workers were being used as part of a programme to upgrade the ESB network.
