Two arrested in connection with serious assault in Derry
Police in the North have arrested two men in connection with a serious assault over the weekend that left a 38-year-old man in a critical condition.
The victim was attacked by a group of men while walking along Rosemount Avenue in Derry in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He suffered serious head injuries and is currently in intensive care at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
The PSNI is appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Meanwhile, four men are due in court in Co Tyrone today following violence at a loyalist march in the town of Castlederg on Saturday.
GAA supporters celebrating Tyrone's win over Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-finals allegedly attacked marchers from the Royal Black Institution when they were passing through the nationalist Ferguson Crescent area.
Seven PSNI officers and two marchers were injured in the incident.
