Local authority tenants at higher risk of poverty - report
Local authority tenants face a much higher than average risk of poverty and deprivation and their position is worsening, a report is set to reveal today.
The Combat Poverty Agency is releasing the results of a study – Mapping Poverty: National, Regional and County patterns – which looks at the distribution of deprivation across the country.
The study also compares rates of poverty in the countryside and villages with those in Dublin and Ireland’s larger towns.
The report is being launched in Dublin by the director of Combat Poverty Agency, Helen Johnston.
The agency is the national statutory organisation in Ireland dedicated to advising on ways to prevent and eliminate poverty and social exclusion.
