Widow to contest division of husband's estate
A widow who claims she has been denied a share of her late husband’s estate by his family will appear in court today.
Sandra Murphy, of Dr Murphy Park, Portlaoise, Co Laois has said that the locks were changed at her former home in the town, which is worth up to €400,000 shortly before her husband died last May.
She won a temporary High Court order earlier this month preventing her late husband’s relatives from selling the property.
The case is to be granted a full hearing in the High Court today before Judge Daniel Herbert.
Ms Murphy became engaged to Tony Madigan junior in 2001 and married him in 2003.
The High court has heard that her husband’s father and brother have told her she has not been provided for in a will she did not know existed and which she has not been allowed to see.
