Young Irishman dies in fall at California national park

An Irishman in his early 20s has reportedly died in a fall at the Yosemite National Park in the US state of California.

Reports this morning said the man was hiking with three friends in the Yosemite Falls area of the park yesterday when he lost his footing and fell down a steep slope.

Yosemite is one of the most famous national parks in the United States.

Around 10 people die in the park every year, mostly climbers and hikers who suffer falls or get lost.
