Body of missing Leitrim woman found

A post mortem will take place later today on the body of a Leitrim woman found in Laural Lake near Fenagh last night.

The gardaí were conducting a search for 48-year-old Marie Heeran since she went missing more than a week ago.

It is understood the mother-of-two went to bed one night as normal and her husband woke up the next morning to discover she was gone.

Her body has now been taken to Sligo General Hospital.
