Sailor postpones bid to break round-Ireland solo record

An Irish army pilot has postponed his bid to break the record for sailing solo around Ireland due to adverse weather conditions.

Captain Mick Liddy was planning to begin the attempt today, but he decided to delay it for at least a week due to high winds.

He was hoping to shave at least a day off the current record of seven days and 10 hours, which was set in 2001.
