DART drivers threaten boycott of new longer trains

Drivers on Dublin's DART service are reportedly threatening to boycott new longer trains which the company is due to begin testing on Monday.

Reports this morning said members of SIPTU and the National Bus and Railworkers Union were seeking a payment of €20,000 each for agreeing to drive the new eight-carriage trains.

The Labour Court has ruled that they should operate the new trains without any pay-off, but the two unions are planning to press ahead with their boycott nonetheless.
