Govt pledges €1m more funding for Niger crisis
The Government has pledged a further €1m in funding to the west African nation of Niger, where millions of people are facing severe food shortages.
The additional money means Ireland has now granted €3m to the aid effort in the country since last month.
International aid agencies have warned that millions of people are at risk of starvation in Niger following crop failures caused by drought and plagues of locusts.
