Live Register figures a cause for concern - INOU
The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU) said it was disappointed at today's Live Register figures.
The number of people signing-on has increased by almost 18,000 in June and July, with adjusted figures showing a rise of 4,200 since April.
Eric Conroy of the INOU says it can't be ignored.
“We're on an upward rise in the last few months and we're concerned about that and it reflects things like high redundancies in the economy,” he said
“We reported on high levels of redundancy last year and we hear about ongoing jobs being lost in manufacturing areas so there's no room for complacency about employment in Ireland.”
