Private firms to operate speed cameras

Speed cameras are to be operated by private companies in a bid to cut the number of deaths and injuries on the road, it emerged today.

The mobile and fixed cameras will initially be located at up to 600 locations nationwide, with some publicly displayed and others hidden.
