McDowell: 'IRA must hand over criminal assets'

The IRA is still an illegal organisation and must fully disband and hand over its criminal assets, Minister for Justice Michael McDowell said today.

Mr McDowell also said the proceeds of the December’s £26.5m (€38m) Northern Bank heist in Belfast, which was blamed on the terror group, must be given back.
