Policing Board: 'This is an enormous day'

Vice-chairman of the Northern Ireland Policing Board Denis Bradley has said he was looking for a positive response from the Unionist community to today's statement by the IRA to dump arms and cease activities.

He said: “This is a statement which would never have been made five, 10 years ago, even last October, and people need to acknowledge that.

“Now that it has been made, the implications are very clear. It is an enormous day in the history of these islands.”
