Irish tourist arrested in Gran Canaria murder probe
An Irish tourist has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Nigerian woman on Gran Canaria.
Vincent Traynor, aged 19, has been arrested in connection with the death of the 23-year-old, whose body was found on the Cochino beach, near the town of San Bartolome de Tirajana.
Traynor, who is believed to be from Loughguile, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland, was arrested last week on the popular Spanish holiday island.
A British Foreign Office spokesman said: “Next of kin have been informed and consular staff are providing the appropriate assistance.”
