Man quizzed over drugs seizure
One million euro worth of drugs were seized as part of a massive Garda operation in Co Meath, it was confirmed today.
A man in his 30s is being questioned after a sports utility vehicle was stopped in the Ratoath area of Co Meath last night.
Officers said about 100kg of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €1m was seized.
Gardaí from Dublin’s Store Street station made the seizure as part of the new Operation Anvil, which was established earlier this year in response to the surge in gun and gangland crime.
The man is being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station in Dublin under Section Two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
