Fota announces new arrival

Fota Wildlife Park has today announced its latest arrival, a European Bison calf named Linde.

Linde, pronounced Linda, was born in the park on June 8. Linde's birth brings the total number of European bison in the herd at Fota to eight.

This figure means that the bison herd at Fota Wildlife Park is now among the largest in Europe.

The news of Linde's birth is significant as European bison is a highly endangered species and only recently has been brought back from the brink of extinction.
