Election literature councillor to be readmitted to FF

A Co Wexford councillor is to be readmitted to the Fianna Fáil party today following a one-year suspension.

Former Junior Minister Lorcan Allen was suspended from the party after circulating bogus literature purportedly signed by the Taoiseach during last year's local elections.

He admitted sending out more than 2,000 letters using Bertie Ahern's signature and has since apologised.
