Tyrone textile firm to axe 185 jobs

Northern Ireland’s largest textile company today announced almost 200 redundancies as part of a restructuring plan.

Adria confirmed its operation in Strabane, Co Tyrone, will be scaled down by the end of the year.

The company informed staff today and has entered into a 90-day consultation period with union officials.

A total of 185 jobs will go but Adria vowed it will continue to be a significant employer in the area.
