Irish woman feared dead in London bombings
It is feared that an Irish woman may among those who lost their lives in the London bombings. At least 49 are already known to have been killed in the blasts.
A spokesperson for the Irish Embassy confirmed they are concerned about one Irish passport holder who has not been accounted for since the terrorist attacks on London’s transport systems on Thursday.
He said the person had lived in London for a number of years. It is believed the individual in question has dual Irish/New Zealand citizenship.
The investigation into the attacks is being called one of the biggest operations ever undertaken by British police.
Forensic teams are continuing their examination of the scenes of each explosion, while officers are still trying to reach bodies trapped in the wreckage of one of the trains.
Meanwhile a young Galway man who was caught up in the blasts on the underground is said to be making a good recovery following surgery.
Twenty-four-year-old Willie John Walshe from Moycullen is being treated at the Royal London hospital for burns and lacerations.
