Development agencies say G8 plan doesn't go far enough
Following the announcement of the ‘Plan for Africa’, development agencies have said that the G8 leaders failed the world's poorest people.
An extra $50bn has been promised by 2010 at the summit in Scotland.
Agreements on debt cancellation, AIDs treatment, and a commitment to change trade rules have also been made.
However, Oxfam's Colin Roche says it won't make poverty history.
"What we've seen is not enough progress and by far not enough progress," he said.
"What we need to see is more being committed by the rich nations in aid. We want to see real progress on trade and from the Irish government we need to see action on their aid commitment."
