Focus turns to fuel poverty deaths

The British government will today be put under intense pressure to take action to stop the deaths of over 2,000 people in the North each year because of cold-related illnesses linked to fuel poverty.

Social development minister David Hanson is to be confronted by a cross-party delegation backing the newly-appointed director of National Energy Action Northern Ireland, Pat Austin.
