Bishop Martin Drennan installed in Galway
Bishop Martin Drennan is being installed as the new Bishop of Galway at a ceremony in St Mary's Casthedral in the city this afternoon.
The 61-year-old former auxiliary bishop of Dublin, who is originally from Piltown in Co Kilkenny, was ordained in 1968.
This afternoon's Mass is being attended by the Primate of All-Ireland Dr Sean Brady and the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Guisseppe Lazzorotto.
The Taoiseach is represented by junior minister Noel Treacy from Galway.
