Two die in road accidents

A man and a woman have died in separate overnight road accidents in Co Louth and Cork city last night.

The woman died in a collision on the N2 between Ardee and Collon at around 8.30pm last night.

In Cork the man died when the car he was driving collided with a tree on the Monaghan Road shortly after midnight.

Gardaí are withholding the names of both victims until their next of kin have been informed.
