Judicial review delays Phantom FM airing

Dublin radio station Phantom FM has been forced to delay its planned launch date of July 1 as it awaits a judicial review in the licence award.

Backers of the Zed FM bid for the licence are seeking the judicial review of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland’s award decision of the Dublin alternative rock radio licence.

The BCI awarded the licence to Phantom FM last November. Five groups had applied for the licence.

Phantom FM's backers include Denis Desmond of MCD and U2 manager Paul McGuinness.
