Man in hospital after north Dublin shooting

A man is in a serious condition in hospital this morning following an overnight shooting in the Coolock area of north Dublin.

The man is believed to have have been shot twice in the body during the incident, which happened on Ferrycarrig Road shortly after 10pm.

He was taken to neareby Beaumont Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Gardaí believe the gunman escaped the scene on a waiting motorcycle.
