Galway volunteers to build Red Cross hospital in Sri Lanka

A hospital is being built in the tsunami hit region of eastern Sri Lanka with money donated by Irish people.

A hospital is being built in the tsunami hit region of eastern Sri Lanka with money donated by Irish people.

It will replace the Keller district hospital which was destroyed by the disaster.

Money raised by the Red Cross will fund the hospital, which is being constructed by a group of volunteers from Galway.

It will serve about 90,000 thousand people in the locality.
