Elderly Wexford women dies in house fire

An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Co Wexford.

The blaze destroyed a downstairs room of the house in Clogh near Gorey at around lunchtime today.

The alarm was raised by a relative of the victim, who was in her early 70s.

Her body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post mortem.

Gardaí are investigating the cause of the fire but have said they do not believe it was suspicious.
