A post-mortem was due to be carried out today on a man who died after being found with extensive burns in a wood in Northern Ireland.

A post-mortem was due to be carried out today on a man who died after being found with extensive burns in a wood in Northern Ireland.

The 43-year-old died in hospital several hours after being discovered in a wooded area of Bangor, near Balloo Drive, known locally as Nicky’s Tomb.

He was named today by police as Robert Heaney, who lived at Kilclief Gardens in the Co Down town.

A Police Service spokesman said they were treating his death as suspicious but had not mounted a murder investigation yet.
