Weekend road crash claims second life

A second man has died following a fatal road accident in Co Clare.

The driver of the car is named locally as Thomas Pender, of Seaview Park.

He died at Cork University Hospital last night, having been critically injured when his car went out of control and crashed into a wall at Quilty, near Miltown Malbay in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The front-seat passenger, 18 year-old David McCarthy, from Quilty, was also killed in the crash, while two other passengers received minor injuries.
