Gardaí name five girls killed in school bus crash

Gardaí have named the five teenage girls who died in yesterday's school bus tragedy near Navan in Co Meath.

Three of the victims were 15-years-old - Lisa Callan from Newtown in Beauparc, Amy McCabe from Hayestown, and Sinead Ledwidge from Senchalstown.

The other two victims were 18-year-old Claire McCluskey from Rathdrinagh in Beauparc, and 17-year-old Deirdre Scanlon, from Yellow Furze.

Meanwhile, the Association of Secondary School Teachers and the Teachers Union of Ireland have become the latest bodies to extend sympathies to all those affected by the tragedy.
