Police Ombudsman appeals for information on NI drowning

The Police Ombudsman's office in the North has appealed for information about an incident last Sunday in which a man drowned in Carlingford Lough.

The Police Ombudsman's office in the North has appealed for information about an incident last Sunday in which a man drowned in Carlingford Lough.

Lewis Murphy from Rostrevor drowned while swimming off the shore at Warrenpoint.

It is believed that the vehicle he had been driving shortly before he entered the water had been stopped by police.

The Ombudsman wants to hear from anyone in the Warrenpoint's Rostrevor Road area between 4pm and 6pm last Sunday evening.
