Two men arrested after high-speed car chase in Cork
Gardai in Cork have arrested two men following an attempted robbery and high-speed car chase this morning.
The drama began in the town of Courtmacsherry in the early hours of the morning, when a publican disturbed two men attempting to break into his premises.
The men fled in a BMW that had earlier been reported stolen in the Rochestown area of Cork city.
Gardaà subsequently intercepted the vehicle and followed it as it entered the Mardyke area of the city, where it rammed two squad cars and struck a pedestrian.
The occupants of the car were later arrested when they lost control of the vehicle and crashed at Wellington Bridge in the city centre.
