Eight hurt as car collides with school coach

Seven school children needed hospital treatment after their coach was involved in a collision which also left a car driver critically injured near Newry, Co Down, today.

Seven school children needed hospital treatment after their coach was involved in a collision which also left a car driver critically injured near Newry, Co Down, today.

They were on their way to classes at the city’s St Colman’s College.

Police said the children were treated for minor injuries, but the driver of a Ford Fiesta which collided with the coach on the Tandragee Road near Drumbanagher Forest was badly hurt. His condition was described as “critical”.
