43 groups receive €80,000 raised in mobile recycling scheme
Forty-three community groups have benefited to the tune of €80,000 over the past two years under a mobile phone recycling scheme set up by Vodafone Ireland.
The telecommunications company said today that around 12 tonnes of mobile phones had been recycled under the scheme, run in conjunction with the Conservation Volunteers Ireland organisation.
The figures were released to coincide with the fourth round of funding awards under the initiative, which are being presented at a ceremony in Dublin today.
