A man in his 20s was fatally injured when he was shot by someone who broke into his house shortly after 5am this morning.

A man in his 20s was fatally injured when he was shot by someone who broke into his house shortly after 5am this morning.

The incident happened at Ballyfermot Parade in south Dublin.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
