Ireland's first ever lung transplant has taken place successfully at Dublin's Mater Hospital.

Ireland's first ever lung transplant has taken place successfully at Dublin's Mater Hospital.

The three-hour procedure was performed in the early hours of this morning.

Hospital officials said the woman who received the transplant was in a stable condition in intensive care.
