Fine Gael's transport spokesperson has said she is baffled why the National Roads Authority (NRA) have advertised for expressions of interest from companies wishing to provide electronic tolling systems on Irish roads.

Olivia Mitchell maintains National Toll Roads made €18m in profits last year and they should be paying for electronic tolling themselves.

She has said the fact that the National Roads Authority and not National Toll Roads is seeking expressions of interest means the taxpayer is getting hit twice.
