Angler's body recovered

The body of a man who went missing while fishing on the River Blackwater in Co Kerry was today recovered by search teams.

Gardaí confirmed the body of the 51-year-old angler was located near the Blackwater Bridge outside Kenmare.

He was last seen yesterday evening after leaving home to go fishing. Family members had raised the alarm after he failed to return home.

Coastguard and lifeboat crews, gardai, the Waterville cliff and coast rescue team and local residents were involved in the search.
