Motorists urged to take extra care over long weekend
The National Safety Council has urged motorists to take extra care on the roads this bank holiday weekend.
The council said 22 people had died in May Bank Holiday road accidents in the last five years and more careful driving could help prevent further tragedies.
Meanwhile, the Water Safety Association has also called on people to act responsibly if taking to the waters this weekend.
It said people should ensure they wear a life jacket if using a boat, should supervise children and should never drink alcohol while on or near the water.
