Two teenagers charged after attack on Belfast firefighters

The PSNI has charged two teenagers with riotous behaviour following an attack on two fire engines in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast last night.

Firefighters had been called to the Florence Court area following reports of a bonfire in the area, but when they arrived, their vehicles were pelted with stones.

Nobody was hurt, but the PSNI said two 18-year-olds had been arrested and charged with riotous behaviour.

Meanwhile, a man in his mid-20s is recovering in hospital after being injured in a paramilitary-style punishment attack in the North last night.

The man was shot in the leg on Moat Street in Donaghadee, just outside Belfast, shortly before 10.30pm last night.
