IRA 'has begun internal debate on Adams statement'

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has said the IRA has begun an internal debate on his call for the organisation to stand down and commit itself exclusively to politics.

Mr Adams made the call a number of weeks ago amid mounting pressure on the republican movement over the IRA’s alleged ongoing involvement in criminality.
